Before you install

System requirements

MergenHub installs as a Windows service and needs nothing else: .NET and the WebView2 runtime are inside the package. Memory scales with the number of tags, not with the number of devices.

Runtime	.NET is not installed separately — the package is self-contained. The Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime (needed by the desktop shell) is bundled and installed offline.
Network	Runs fully offline. Internet is only needed for online licence activation; offline activation by file is also available.
Mobile app	MergenHub Mobile for iOS and Android, no extra license. Device sessions and push notifications need MergenHub 3.5 or later (older servers are reached with HTTP Basic). The server must be reachable on the network (api.url 0.0.0.0); HTTPS is recommended for access over the internet. Alarm notifications need outbound HTTPS to exp.host. Virtual machines	Supported (Hyper-V, VMware, Proxmox). The licence is tied to the machine fingerprint; if you clone or move the VM, release the licence first and activate it again.

Sizing by tags: memory is dominated by the tag cache and OPC UA address space. A 300,000-tag installation measures about 2 GB of process memory; devices, screens and drivers add little.
